Dispute Resolution Service
Community Action Partnership has administered the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program (ADR) since 1996 and has offered individuals the opportunity to become certified mediators who make a difference in community through mediation. Mediation helps resolve disputes before they escalate to violence and/or litigation.
Community Mediation Service
Mediation is a process through which disputants work together with a Certified Mediator to arrive at a mutually acceptable agreement with regard to a dispute. The purpose of Mediation is to settle disputes, not to assign blame, fault nor legally represent either party. Mediation handles a variety of disputes including, but not limited to landlord/tenant disputes, merchant/consumer disputes, neighbor/neighbor disputes, debt consolidation, and small business disputes. Mediation saves money, time, and allows a workable relationship.
Basic Mediation Training
As a Riverside County resident, you can take advantage of our comprehensive Basic Mediation Training. This training is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a certified mediator under the State California Dispute Resolution Programs Act of 1986. The training consists of 25 hours of in-class instruction, as well as court observations and co-mediations. You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced mediators and gain practical experience through observation and co-mediation. To ensure you get the most out of the training, all class requirements must be completed within six months from the date of the final in-class session. This training is only offered in the spring and fall, so don't miss out on this valuable opportunity.
