Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) provides FREE tax preparation that helps filers access the tax credits & refunds they are entitled to. There are FREE VITA sites throughout Riverside County. Sites are staffed by VITA volunteers representing Community Action Partnership of Riverside County. Volunteers are required to go through IRS training and become IRS VITA certified. Tax preparation sites are open from January through April, with some sites open year-round.

The expectation for this program is that, after completing the onboarding process and certification, you will commit to providing 40 hours of volunteer service during the tax season. There are incentive awards for additional volunteer hours exceeding 100 hours, which can be earned through any committed service outside of the tax season for our program.
