Community Action Partnership of Riverside County offers volunteer opportunities and welcomes volunteers to help with a wide variety of activities. Volunteering can provide valuable job experience, keep your skills sharp, and keep learning competitive skills. Our goal is to have a better community with people helping people.


Volunteer Programs:

1. Youth programs


Project L.E.A.D (Linking Education, Advocacy, and Development) Project L.E.A.D is a program that recruits, trains and deploys mentors/tutors to assist students enrolled in after-school programs at middle schools in the City of Riverside.


2. Dispute Resolution


Mediation is a conflict resolution process assisted by CAP Mediators who serve as neutral third parties to explore options and reach resolutions through compromise. Participants are able to gain valuable experience at various Riverside County Superior Courts as a CAP Mediator after completing a Basic Mediation Training (small fee applies).


3. Saving for Success


Saving for Success is a matched savings incentive program for low-income residents of Riverside County. Volunteer opportunities for this program include clerical, outreach, workshop instruction, and others.


4. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) provides FREE tax preparation that helps filers access the tax credits & refunds they are entitled to. There are FREE VITA sites throughout Riverside County. Sites are staffed by volunteers representing Community Action Partnership of Riverside County. Volunteers are required to go through training (November/December) and become IRS VITA certified. Tax preparation sites are open from January 31 through April 15 annually.
